Finishing Without Risk

The TSPROF bronze lapping plate is designed for finishing the cutting edge and loading with diamond pastes.

The plate itself is not an abrasive element and works only in combination with a paste. It ensures minimal risk and allows achieving the finest possible finish during sharpening.

Features

• Works best with fine grit diamond pastes (7/5, 3/2, and finer).
• The bronze plate is softer than the blade steel, ensuring smooth, controlled finishing with minimal risk.
• Designed to be used without pressure, under its own weight.
• Bottom side features a special marking area where you can indicate the grit of the loaded paste.

Recommendations

1. Apply the paste evenly over the surface of the plate.
2. Do not use one plate with different pastes — the grit becomes embedded in the bronze, and changing compounds may cause unwanted scratches. 
3. If contaminated, the surface can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
   
4. The plate is much softer than the steel of the blade. Its surface can be easily damaged, especially when working near the tip of the blade.
5. The plate can be used in both directions, and it operates under its own weight without additional pressure.

Care and storage

Store the plate separately from other abrasives, protecting the working surface from damage and aggressive substances (corrosive acids, alkalis, seawater).

If necessary, you can restore its geometry on a lapping plate using the same paste as in operation. The use of coarse pastes is not allowed, as this will lead to scratches.
